Strategic Sustainability Action Planning

We work with our client's to integrate design and building systems in an interdisciplinary way to ensure that economically and ecologically sound solutions are integrated into the project. Our process typically starts with the development of a shared vision and goals. From there we work with the owner and the design team using the Integrated Design Process (IDP) to develop a plan of action on how to achieve exemplary sustainability, while respecting the project's budget and schedule.

Facilitation

BuildGreen is experienced with bringing groups together to create consensus decisions that advance a sustainability agenda. Our Eco-Charrettes bring project team members and stakeholders together early in the development process to foster creativity, innovation, efficiency and collaboration. Our professionally trained facilitators and innovative facilitation techniques help create buy-in for project goals, smooth regulatory approval, and devise creative solutions to sustainability challenges.

Development Management Services

We have an experienced team of project managers able to provide complete project management services from the design through construction and commissioning. We can act as an owners' representative on both new-build and retrofit projects to ensure a high-quality and efficient BuildGreen product. If desired we can act as facilitators of the Integrated Design Process, and manage all LEED registration and submittal requirements.

Education and Presentations

We offer workshops and training seminars on a range of high-performance green building issues to any interested organization, and are available to deliver these services anywhere in the world. Some of our pre-packaged workshops include: An Introduction to Integrated Design, Green Materials, and The Economics of Green Building, Green Community Planning.

Green Building Reports, Studies and Guidelines

We provide high-level green building research and strategy development services for cities, states, design professionals and others to assist in the design of green building programs and the planning of specific projects. We bring particular expertise in helping overcome barriers to sustainability.

Community and Site Master Planning

We can build a team to professionally facilitate master planning services with an attention to environmentally sensitive and appropriate site planning, sustainable infrastructure, transportation and parking servicing, building design, landscaping, energy systems, provision and/or protection of green space, recreation facilities, and other details. Our team offers deep expertise in LEED for Neighbourhood Developments and can manage the LEED ND process for a master planning exercise.

Financial Advisement

Our expertise in developing and consulting on some of North America's greenest developments has allowed us to develop the tools and expertise to advise clients on the economic aspects of building green. We can assist owners and developers in putting together their pro forma, advise on alternative financing options, and consult on grant and partnership opportunities.
