Integrated Design Process (IDP) Facilitation

We work with our clients to integrate design and building systems in an interdisciplinary process to ensure that economically and ecologically sound solutions are identified. Our Integrated Design Process (IDP) typically starts with the development of a shared vision and goals. We work with a property owner and design team to develop guiding principles and objectives, which flow into a plan of action to achieve exemplary results within the project’s budget and schedule.

Typically, the IDP includes design workshops, often referred to as charrettes. Our Eco-Charrettes bring project team members and stakeholders together early in the development process to foster creativity, innovation, efficiency and collaboration. Our professionally trained facilitators and innovative facilitation techniques help create buy-in for project goals, smooth regulatory approval, and devise creative solutions to sustainability challenges. We bring groups together to create consensus decisions that advance a sustainability agenda.

IDPs may vary widely from project to project. Often, we provide this service in conjunction with project management or sustainability action planning; such engagements may last several months for larger projects.  On the other hand, for smaller projects, BuildGreen may facilitate a single workshop to align vision and design objectives.
